| Dr. Debanik Roy is a researcher in the field of Robotics and Intelligent Automation Systems. He did his undergraduation in Manufacturing Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 1990, M.Tech. in 1993 from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India with specialization in Manufacturing Engg.& Robotics and Ph.D in Robotics (tele-manipulation & remote control) from Jadavpur University in 1997. He joined Automation Division, Tata Steel, India after completion of his Ph.D. work and was actively involved in robotics projects there. He joined Robotics Research Centre, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 1998 as Research Faculty and did research-based work in the field of underwater robotics. Since 2000, he have been associated with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India and currently pursuing three R & D projects on Robotics (viz. intelligent mini-gripper, gripper sensor &underwater robotic system). He is also associated with Robotics Research Laboratory, E.T.S. de Ingenieros Industriales, Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, Ciudad Real, Spain as Visiting Research Faculty since November 2003 and currently involved in two R & D projects in the domain of micro-gripper and flexible manipulator. |
