| Dr. A. G. Ramakrishnan is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from I.I.T., Madras, India, in 1989. He recieved Young Scientist (1994) award by the Dept of Science and Technology, Government of India, Sir Andrew Watt Kay Young Researcher's Award (1992) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, Thangam Vasudevan award (1985) from the Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists. He is also a member of various Biomedical Engineering and Speech Technolgoies Research organizations and communities both in India and abroad. His research interests are Registration, Analysis and 3-D Compression of MRI Images, Modeling and estimation of hemodynamic response function of fMRI signals, Character Recognition and Text-to-Speech Synthesis in Indian languages, Speaker and Face Recognition. He is a Senior Member, IEEE, NY, U.S.A., Engineering in Medicine &Biology Society and Signal Processing Society, Life Member, Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists, Fellow, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, India, Fellow, Institution of Engineers (India) and Member of Computer Society of India. |
